Default After market Head Unit with infinity system

So my 01 has the Infinity System in it...

I wanted to get a Pioneer unit installed. I am hearing 2 different stories. Some say you can. Others say you can't, because of the Infinity amp.

What is the truth about it???

And I found out I have steering wheel controls for my radio, I had no idea about. Does anyone have any of those aftermarket add ons to keep these controls working with an aftermarket radio?

you need a way to power up the amp, if your radio can do that you should be fine, however i have never done it so idk how you would do this.

also i have never heard of anything to allow you to keep steering wheel controls so if you change the radio you are SOL on keeping those controls afaik

LOL....best buy tried selling me one, but I'd like to find out if anyone had issues with them. They also told me installing a head unit with Infinity in my truck is no issue.....but another installer said it is....

That's Geek Squad for ya!!!

I've been kinda wondering about this too, but for my Strat. Loving the feedback so far.

I put a DEH-P9400BH in my D and love it. I have the infinity system and it worked fine. As for the steering wheel controls can't say there because I don't have them.
