I recently bought a second remote for my Code Alarm CA530 remote start. The CA530 would not enter programming mode so I could add the new remote. The green/violet wire on the CA530 controller that is supposed to be connected to the door ajar switch was not connected to anything. While it should be connected to the door ajar switch, the most convenient way I found to enter program mode was to temporarily ground the green/violet wire. I then programmed the remote and disconnected the wire from ground. Maybe this will save someone a lot of time.
