Default 2000 Durango 4x4 5.9L V8, Instrument Panel Lights Don't Work

I own a 2000 Durango, 5.9L V8, 4x4. The instrument panel lights don't come on anymore. I've replaced the fuses (I think...have to double/triple check all of them still). Anything else I should look at?

Thanks!

Those lights should be on the same fuse as your park/tail lights, fuse #14 in my truck. Try moving the dimmer roller on the headlight switch up and down and see if that make them come on. Beyond that you could check the connections on the back of the instrument cluster or try replacing the headlight switch, unless all of the bulbs in the instrument panel decided to burn out at once, which is pretty unlikely.

Thanks, you're right, it's fuse #14. I put in a new fuse and it worked for a few seconds and the lights went out. Checked the fuse and it was blown, so something is blowing the fuse all of a sudden. Thoughts? Oh, and thanks!!!

I had the same thing happen to me last week. It turned out that water got into my trailer plug and was shorting out the park/tail light circuit. You can also try removing all of the park/tail light bulbs and see if there's anything shorting the contacts. Beyond that you'd have to start tracing wires.

Thanks, I'll check the trailer plug and then the lights. We live in Illinois now (I'm in the military) and it's been super cold. I wonder if some moisture got inside something and froze/thawed/froze and is shorting it out? I'm a big time noob...but I'll do my best. Thanks again for the advice, greatly appreciated!!
