Default Lifting a '99 Durango.

I want to look into lift my '99 Durango. But only enough to comfortably fit 33's with no rub. I currently have 31's on it but my door jamb says stock is 29's. But I looked further into it and apparently Durangos came stock with either 29s or 31s. So why would mine have 31s and the door says 29s? Either way, these 31s look small and there is lots of room in the wheel well but I dont really have a way to see if 33's will fit with its hight the way it is. I am not sure if it is stock hight but it looks like it. How much lift would I need and whats the best best lift for a couple inches? 1 or 3". I saw a Dakota with blocks in the U bolts. They had extended U bolts and a block in them for the lift. What is that called? Sorry, kinda new at this. Any help is appreciated.

Mine came with 31" and it has the specs for 29" on the door too, I think they were all that way.
