Replaced Turn Signal Flasher, Now Brakes Stay On Permanently
Hey everyone,
I have a 2002 Dodge Durango, AWD. The turn signals went out (started going out intermittently until they quit altogether), so I replaced the turn signal flasher, a $60 part... ouch! Anyway, the turn signals worked fine, but the brake lights stayed on permanently with the new flasher. Plugging in the old one returns me to the original problem of no turn signals but at least my brake lights work as they are supposed to. Also checked the brake light switch and it seems to be working fine. All fuses are good as well.
Could this be a faulty combination turn signal flasher? or is there something else going on behind the scenes?
Thank in advance for any answers!

try unplugging the tail light housings from the truck and then see if the middle brake light still stay on all of the time. If not then the problem is within one of the tail lights (probably a short). If it does still come on than something is either wrong with your flashers (maybe the wrong ones) or another wiring problem somewhere.
