Exclamation Another Blinker Malfunction Thread

Hi All!

Yesterday, I noticed my driver's side blinker would blink fast on the dash and front blinker, but no blink in the rear. I changed the bulbs with no results. I checked the 10 amp fuse in the side dash panel and it's good. When I click the key bob to lock, the blinker bulb flashes. Would this be the flasher under the dash that is hard to get to? It just started yesterday.

i sould check the conections and see if they are loose in the rear housing because the bulbs in the rear have two filaments in them, one for brake lights/turn signals and one for parking/marker lights, if the connection to one filament is loose it will cause the bulb to not blink

I'll be looking at that today. Forgot to mention that we had a little damage to that rear side a month or so ago and they replaced that tail light. It appears to be from a 97. If nothing comes up, I'll take it to get the tail light checked. Maybe the board is bad? We shall see.

They could've used one from a 97 caravan, it's the same part.

Yezzer, 050197 is the date stamp on it. I know they make the new year model vehicles, the previous year, so that may be as well? I'm sure it's a used tail light. I got it repaired at Serv Kong (misspelled so not to promote....don't know what the rules are ) via my insurance, so it should be warrantied like the paint, etc. I'll run it to the shop tomorrow at lunch and get both the wire coming into the light and the light itself. If it proves to be the tail light, I'll call the ins and have it replaced under warranty.

My 01 Ram has just a plain tail light where the wires with bulbs just plug in, as ya'll may be aware of, so this is beginning to feel like a trade-up!

Well the shop was closed yesterday, so I didn't get the light checked, but fiddled with it after work.

Swapped rear indicator bulbs within the 2 lenses, nothing.
Swapped lenses to each side; right worked on left, left didn't work on right.
Put everthing back together and tried again and both sides worked!
