Exclamation dodge durango slt 5.9l Hemi leaked steam and antifreze

i am a new used durango owner. i love my truck. today while travelling on highway check gage light came on and i saw a lot of steam under hood. Pulled over and saw the steam was coming iut from all around the radiator cap.
Can soneone advise me what might have caused that. The temp gage was normal no signs of over heating

Welcome to the forum! Could just be a bad cap. I'd replace it and see if it happens again.

Exclamation

Thanks! after two days of aggravation of antifreeze leaking out from the cap, i figured out the problem. The mechanic opened up the cap to check fluid level but did not put the cap back on tightly. A small mistake costed me coupke days of inrense aggravation. Thank goodness no damage done to engine.

Great to hear it was a simple fix. Just to clarify the 5.9l is not a hemi.

Glad it was nothing serious. I would just check the fluid level again you probably lost some over the course of those 2 days.
