Default Need some help here

First post here so go easy. Per this site I replace my governor pressure sensor and solenoid as well as speed sensor (new parts) to fix a non shift issue. All went well and worked great until today (exactly one week since parts replaced). So my question is what would cause them to go bad so quickly? Im now throwing P1762 and 1756 codes. Am at a complete loss here.

Thanks in advance

What year and engine? Mastertech should be able to help you out once you post that info.

P1762 Gov Press Sens Offset Volts Too Low or Hi

P1756 Gov Press Not Equal to Target @ not15-20 PSI

First i will ask, when you installed the sensors ... did you reset the PCM to allow it to learn the new sensors?

Do your replace the wire harness along with the sensors?

More than likely the P1762 code is causing the P1756 code and ill bet you will find a loose or dirty electrical connection.

Forgot to add the important stuff, year 99 engine 5.2

PCM was reset after sensor install using the same wires that were there, no new wire harness (had no idea it was available).

Yeah, when i replaced mine i got the gov. pressure sensor, tranducer, and the OD/ lockup solenoid in a kit that also included the 8 pin harness.

Well, since the PCM has been reset that leads me to 3 conclusions...

1. electrical- loose or dirty wire

2. Gov pressure sensor is not seated all the way

3. you got a faulty gov pressure sensor

Although #3 is possible, i think # 1 & 2 are more likely .. When you pushed the Gov pressure sensor in did you hear it click?

Yes I heard it "click" in. Although a pain in the butt I'll be starting at square one today that way I can eliminate one thing at a time. Is there a way to bench test the Gov. pressure sensor, etc. or should I try the "pink wire" jump to ground first.

Any chance you have a part number for that kit or where you can get it
