99 Durnago stalling problem
Hey all,
I have a 99 Durango with the 5.9L engine. Out of the blue, it has started stalling at highway speeds. It never completely loses power...it just starts jerking and sputtering if I try to give it gas. It will spitter and sputter for a few miles then start running fine for a couple of miles then it will do it again. It does NOT do it in town or while idling. I let it idle for over 30 minutes and it never once hesitated. While having the problem on the highway, I shifted to neutral and tried to rev it, but the RPMs did not increase, so that tells me that it is not the tranny. It feels like a fuel delivery problem, but it idles and revs fine. Is there a sensor that will give the impression of "fuel pump" problems only at highway speeds? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
