Is there any filter on the fresh air vent system on a 2000 R/T? Any time I turn on the air vent, it smells really bad (previous owner was a smoker[:@]) Anyway, if there is a filter, where is it, and how do I change or clean it? Thanks All!!

 

No filters on 1st generation Durangos. Have no idea about the 2nd generations. Not much you can do to get rid of the smell other than tearing down your dash to get to the A/C/Heather core and wash it out from there.

 

I would ask a local used car dealer what they use to get rid of the smoke smell. When I test drove my D it reaked of smoke. The dealer told me it wouldn't be a problem to remove the smell. I picked the D up the next day and the smell was completly gone. I don't know what he used but it worked.
