Lift gate noise

So I finally got around to opening up the lift gate to see what that annoying noise was every time I opened and closed the rear door. It sounded like a screw came loose and was rattling around inside. This is what I found in the inside of the door.

It is a t-40 torx screw. I searched everywhere inside the lift gate and could not find a missing screw. Everything seems to be working great on my 2000 Durango, I'm just curious if anyone knows what it might go to? It looks like it has never been screwed into anything.
