i got a new water pump that i am going to install but i cant get the fan retaining nut off i bought the speal tool for it but cant figure how to use the too it came with a wrench but the other tool i dont know how to apply it any help also do i have to drain the coolant out of the engine

 

It turns out that i had a pressed on fan so you just get a wrench and hit it straight down with a hammer to knock it loose my new problem is that i took off the the 7 bolts that hold the water pump and it doesnt want to come off is there anything i can put on it to loosen the gasket

 

It sounds like you forgot a bolt that is hard to see on the bottom of the pump. I don't know what engine you have so I don’t know which pump you got? Double check the pump with a light you might just find the problem. If it doesn’t want to come off then tap it with a hammer, you got a new one anyway.
