I have a 98 DD 5.9 with 157,000 miles.

My Headlights would go out while I was driving at night, I would hit the pull **** on the light switch and they would usually come back on.

About a week ago this happened again,but the lights did not come back on this time, I had to hold the turn signal control with High beams on just to have lights.

HERE IS THE PROBLEM NOW: I have since replaced the light/dimmer switch on the dash board and now I have headlights and illumination on my instrument cluster, but now my taillights wont come on when i turn the headlights on, any suggestions????

I'd check the fuses for the parking lights and the connectors on the switch.

 

i had the same situation and when i changed the combination switch it corrected it.
