Transmission goes rrrrrrr. Like a lion!
I just bought a 2000 4.7l 4x4 SLT. When I shift into reverse or drive, I hear a slight "rrrrrrrr" sound right before it clicks into gear. Should I be worried?
I should mention that it shifts firm and perfectly, no lag or hesitation or slipping. The truck only has 65k on the clock.

If this is your first Chrysler product, better get used to it because virtually all Chry/Dodge/Jeep trannies before I would say MY 2004 have a "grinding" noise. I wouldnt be too alarmed about it but if it starts slipping, have it looked at immediately. My grandmother has an 01 Town and Country minivan which makes the same "grinding" noise, but has had NO trans. problems with 76K on the clock-original transmission. Hope this helps, and enjoy your Durango!
