Default Dex+3 or +4

Installing a tranny back in my 99 durango getting ready to start was looking in my manual it calls for 7176dexron 3. My local parts store says they have the equivalent of +3 which calls for an additive or +4. I'm wondering which one would be better with a rebuilt tranny with a shift kit. Also what about my 4 wheel drive transfer case wick should I use for it, manual calls for the same stuff. Thanks for the help

Don't use anything but ATF+4 (not dex4) or you're just asking for trouble.

From my experience, if you have a older 1st generation durango tranny that came with ATF+3, you can replace with ATF+4. You cannot go the other way around. Meaning if your trans was setup originally with ATF+4, it must stay with ATF+4
