Default Blower resistor bypass?

02 Durango SXT 4x4 4.7l. Not mine, a friends. Her blower resistor keeps blowing and melting the plug. We know we have to replace the 3 items in that line (blower motor, resistor and plug) however we are looking for a way to safely bypass the resistor for a few days while we wait for the parts. Anybody have any in site to this? Or wiring diagrams for the whole blower motor system would help too

I thought the resister was only for the 'lower than full speed' fan use. Just put the fan on high.

That's the thing tho, we lose every speed but the very lowest. Min speed is the last to go as the resistor burns out. Max speed is second last to go, every other speed burns out the resistor instantly..

Went through similar problem with my 01 RT. You need to replace the blower motor. It may run but the resistance of the electric motor is bad and is likely burning up the resistors. I went through 2 resistors and plug before replacing the blower motor and no more burnt resistors.

I know, but what I am looking for is a temporary bypass. or at the very least a wiring diagram. We are just doing this as a temp fix in order to keep the A/C running for a pregnant lady. And it's only until the new blower motor comes in

Kids aren't cheap, ever! So let it start now, via Hertz or Enterprise, or Avis, or Budget... Gotta keep Mama happy.
