Default Rattle in muffler

So I got a rattle in my muffler. Something broke off inside I guess. So now that I have to change it, I'm looking for opinions on one that will increase performance without changing any piping or removing anything aside from the stock muffler. I was watching some videos on youtube and so far I like the magnaflow ones. I'm looking for a bassy deep tone, but not too loud out of my 4.7. Was also looking at a dynomax muffler, and it looked intriguing. Anybody had any experience with these? What was the outcome of the sound?

All in all, I'm looking for deep and bassy, not loud and raspy. Opinions?

I'd say Magnaflow is your best bet, they seem to be the more "grown up" mufflers (i.e. nice tone, but not too loud) unlike some other ones that are just ridiculously loud. I love the Magnaflow on my 5.2, it has a very nice tone, but isn't too loud and it doesn't drone when you're just cruising. I'm not sure which dynomax one you were looking at, but their s-flow one is supposed to be the best flowing s-flow muffler, however it is extremely quiet.

Thanks for the response. I wish I knew what dynomax muffler I was looking at too, but it was just when I was there buying oil, I was just browsing and didnt think to check the model. What model magnaflow are you running? I want the sound to still be there at idle, or when I'm cruising, but I just don't want it to be stupid loud. I'm 25, so I still like it loud, but I also work nights and don't wanna wake the neighbours every night lol

I couldn't tell you what the model is. My dad put the magnaflow cat back system on it over 10 years ago before the truck became mine, so I doubt they still make the same exact model anymore.

I put a Dynomax Ultra flo 3" cat back on my 5.9 and love the rumble. I highly recommend this muffler and it is reasonable at around $70.

Thanks for the input guys. I've decided to go with a Thrush turbo muffler. Heard a Dakota with the 4.7 with this muffler on and man did it sound nice. The closest sound to what I'm looking for yet

My brother bought a pair of those for his 74 Dart 318, although he still has the engine on a stand in the garage so I haven't heard them yet.

Heard one in a 98 ram with the 360 as well. It sounded like the muffler was older as it didn't sound as good as the Dakota, and it was definitely louder on the ram, but I think it sounded just right on the 4.7. Once I buy it and put it in, I'll post a video of the sound

So I haven't gotten around to doing the muffler yet as I've kind of completely changed my plan for the exhaust. But with that being said...

The rattle has gotten worse! I hear it all the time, it rattles if you close any door, hood, or rear latch. So what I'm thinking is I'm gunna cut out the muffler for not and replace it with a piece of pipe and some exhaust clamps for now. My question here is, will this significantly harm performance or MPG?? I don't care about 1 or 2 MPG, but 5 or more MPG will have me second guessing. Also, how sloppy will it sound for the time being?

In the near future, I wanna do an x-pipe off the exhaust manifold, out to two high flow cats off to two mufflers and dump it straight out the back. Haven't looked underneath to see if it would all fit or not, but that would be my ideal set up. If that's not possible, I will just do a single in, dual out muffler and dump the exhaust out the corners on a downward angle.
