Default 2002 durango rt park brake light on

My park brake light is always on. Ive tried the release and didn't go off. The brake fluid isn't leaking and is full. Yesterday the abs light also came on, but when I drove it this morning the abs light disappeared. Anyone know what the problem could be or how to get the park brake light to go off

Most likely the speed sensor on the rear axle is starting to go. I would replace that and it should fix it.

hmmm.. usually that solves it. I have heard others having the same issues with a failing or failed ABS module but, i have never had one myself so i cant tell you for sure that's it.. something to maybe look into more.

Also, the brake light alerts the driver if a pressure differential exists between the front and rear hydraulic systems. Maybe there is a issue with the proportion valve.

Same happened with my 01 rt plus the abs would turn on and begin to pulsate and not stop. It was the 4 wheel abs module. I first tried one of those rebuilding services and it did not work even had them repair it again under their warranty. I replaced the 4 wheel abs module with a used one off ebay with matching numbers for around a $100 and it solved my problems.

Unstated obvious... is the parking brake pedal at the full top? ... enough to not be pressing the light switch at the top?
