Default Blower Motor Resistor & Harness

the high fan speed doesn't work and I read a few posts on here about the resistor being the culprit. The dealer had it for about 5 bucks and change and also mentioned that he had the wiring with a new connector for $66.00. When I got home with the new resistor I found out that the old resistor was stuck in the connector and I could see some corrosion on one of the wires where it goes into the connector. My question is: If I bought the harness with a new connector is it OK to just cut the old connector off and use crimp connectors to hook up the new one?

Thanks

Those wires are pretty thick, you should probably solder them and get some heat shrink at the parts store. Well, actually the kit from the dealer has some awesome heat shrink pieces in it.

A good solder and heat shrink job is definitely the best, longest lasting option. Another good option for covering the soldered area is liquid electric tape. You just apply it and cover it well then let dry. I like this any time I splice wires in an area where I really want the connection to have a good sealed protection or I don't have room for the hart shrink.
