99 Durango w/ fuel PSI falling to 10 psi U/Load
I have a dodge durango that I have a small problem with it surgeing under load.
I hooked up a fuel PSI tester and at Idle it will hold 49 +\-5 PSI But when I
take off with it the PSI will drop out to 10 to 20 pounds and the engine will start
surging. Is this normal for the dodge pump to do this or should it be holding
49 + on a excel ?
Any help would be great.

It should hold better PSI than that. I think you should replace the filter. The problem is the filter is in the fuel tank with the pump. So if you do the filter might as well do the whole thing anyway because it is so much of a pain, then you don't have to do it again for another 100K hopefully. Not quite sure but you might have a PSI regulator on your D, might want to check into it???[sm=confused06.gif]
