4.7L Oil Pressure issue
Hey Guys,
My wifes 03 Durango has been running great. Except a small little issue with the oil pressure "idiot light"
Oil levels are good, but at random intervals the oil pressure light comes one and stays on for a bit, then shuts off. Its been totally random whichs makes me believe its the sending unit. I just wanted to ask here if anyone knew a way I could test the sender without just replacing it?
I want to be sure its bad since they cost over $100. (ridiculous!) Im pretty sure the pressure is good, but I still want to confirm with a mechanical gauge.

Sounds like a bad sender or bad connection to me as well, but it doesnt hurt to check with a manual gauge as well. Not sure where you got your price on a sending unit but Rockauto has them for less than 5 bucks, and I'm pretty sure I only paid 12 or so at autozone when I broke mine.
