Just wanted to say that I appreciate the "activity" of the Durango users on this forum (and others). It is nice to see people helping out on 11-15 year old vehicles with responses.
I recently was involved in an accident with my DD, and as a result the insurance company totaled it out. We were able to buy it back though, so we got the "suspension/axle" rebuilt (at a reasonable price).
As a result though the DD will no longer be my daily driver as we looked at something better on gas. We bought it back because we got a nice settlement on it, and we just could not give up on it for all that it offered us. Hard to replace the functionality of the DD with anything on the market today, especially on a budget (as we have to replace our roof and furnace on the house this year).
We ended up with a 2005 Volvo S80, and thus the reason for this post. I made a post on three different Volvo forums, and it seems that those forums are "dead"? How can something simple like asking about an oil recommendation go unanswered? (I am new to European cars) Lots of page views but no replies. Considering the massive number of Volvos out there, either that Make, or with similar engines, you would think someone could chime in with $0.02 ?
I am just glad I have the folks here to get me through the issues that have come up or may come up with my Durango.
You may now return your normally schedule BS already in progress.

What? No "'Merican" cars good enough for you?
I found THIS, but it doesn't show the viscosity. I'd use regular 10w-30 (prefer Castrol for past 40-50 years).

As for my oil question, it is no so much about the weight, but what type of Synthetic to run? There is talk about Mobil1 for Volvos, but I am not sure which "level" of Synthetic to buy....as there are multiple levels.....and there seems to be some "wordsmithing" going on in their names and descriptions which make it touch to narrow in on the one "level" preferred.

When I went to the tire shop intially, they said I needed to get a set of 4..because I was just past what they would deem acceptable to replace just one.....the tires are all of 18 months old.
My mechanic hooked me up and I got away with 1 tire...albeit they are $180 each (rim was $35 from LKQ)
The Ford Edge had those "RV Tow bars" on it, and it speared the sidewall, and when the Ball Joint sheared, it put a nice crack in the rim.
To get it road worthy, I needed all 4 ball joints replaced, and the P/S "Half-shaft" axle replaced.
Not sure why this pic turned out "blue" as this was taken (with a buddy's camera) around 3PM and it was clear out.
Here is a close up pic I posted on Instagram....black sure does hide the damage.

If you get a new girlfriend, do you have to duplicate what she may have been used to in bed from the last guy, or do you blaze your own trail? Me be blazin', she'll adapt.
