I plan on doing a full stroker build on my 99 318 in my Durango as soon as I have the money. Full build, cam, heads, intake, TB, everything hopefully 400hp 500ft/lbs tq at the wheels. I got all the part numbers and prices and I have all that figured out but what about the trans? It's the original trans with 198,000 on it right now. I'm wondering what complete kits there are for different amounts of power? Like bulldog has complete kits for the 700 r4's and the 4l60e's for varying amounts of power. I'd rather not buy each upgraded part individually through transtar. Or would it cost much more to get a beefed up or rebuild a used 5 speed? It's an NV3500 isn't it?

 

Check out this place http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm, its like candy land for transmissions. I got their viper level 2 rebuild in mine. But something went wrong when I rebuilt it but the forward gears are really improved and work great (just issues with reverse) and the converter is an 1800 rpm stall and drives excellent. In hind sight I would have just bought one pre-built cause I ended up spending more than it would've cost and still aren't done (the inside was trashed and ended up putting a lot of hard parts in it.
