Shocks and Exhaust recommendations
I need to replace my rear shocks. 2002 SLT. And I want an exhaust system with some muscle sound. Recommendations appreciated, thank you. Oh and I have the 4.7L Engine.
Get your build sheet first on the shocks. I ordered new ones for mine before I got the build sheet and have to buy new ones now. Turns out mine came with HD shocks. I can tell the difference in the ride.

You will get a lot of opinions on exhaust. I recommend going to the manufactures websites or YouTube and search there for sound files.
Personally I went with a flowmaster 40 series.
As for shocks, I can only tell you what I went with....KYB Monomax - Cheaper through Amazon. - Note that my DD has the Torsion Key / Shackle lift installed. There is a "stock" height version as well.
I checked out reviews on the KYB shocks before buying and they rated well. http://www.shockwarehouse.com/index.cfm
Bilsteins and Monroes are other options. What do you have on there now? Stock?
I have not heard good things about Rancho shocks in recent years. Several decades ago they were good, but not so much any more from what I hear and read.

i just had a flowmaster 40 installed this morning and it sounds pretty good its got a nice deep rumble which i like. as for shocks i went with rancho 5000 and they arent bad. the ride is definitely stiff though
Also don't replace just the rears. Stupid when people do that ****.
Do it right and do both frond and rears. Your fronts probably need more attention anyway.
