Confused, what is a PCM?
I have similar issues I've been chasing with an 88 Dodge Ram B250 Van for 3 weeks. Thought it was a fusible link that was replaced with a fused wire. Now I'm thinking fuel related shut down...cuz it only happens when going up hill or trying to start when on a hill.

 

Not sure exactly, I've never had the tank off.

 

I've had that code too and never had starting probs I would bet it's your crank sensor. change that first, my guess would be cat is clogged your crank is bad maaaaybe cam sensor but eh these trucks got all kind or electric parts over heating but mainly with the ac and heater stuff. I would change the crank sensor 1st before anything else
