Default will Rancho RS9116 shocks work?

I am looking into this because of a possible trade.

The guy has Rancho RS9116 Shocks (rear), and the specs are:
Extended Length (in):
24.40 in.
Collapsed Length (in):
14.79 in.

The correct shock for my 1998 Durango is RS5248

The 5248 specs are:

Extended Length (in):
24.625 in.
Collapsed Length (in):
15.375 in.

Will the 9116's work for the rear of my 98 Durango, without issue?
I do moderate off roading, very rough roads type of thing, nothing extreme.
Thanks!!

If I am reading it right, the shocks you are looking to trade for have more "travel".

Being these go on the rear, there might not be an issue with that 0.6" - However, I will let a "Suspension Expert" weigh in on this.

Another thing to consider is "eyelet" size and also age...are these new or used?

Thanks for chiming in about this.
I didn't even think about the eyelet size being possibly different.
Guess I will have to do some research on that.

Yep, they are used. Was told they have a couple months on them.

At this point I will look into the eyelet thing, but honestly I'm leaning
towards scratching the deal with this guy since they are used. We will see.

I would scratch it too unless you really know their history.... As in how they were treated before.

With shocks, it is best to spend money "right" the first time, our you'll end up spending money twice.

Yep, I passed on the trade.

What was I thinking even considering used shocks???

Anyway, sorry for wasting everyones time.
I'm just going to buy a new set of rear RS5000's and call it a day.

Thanks again for the comments/advice/info, much appreciated.
