Well, I took the plunge and experimented with Plasti Dip over the weekend (while "The Mrs" was out of town)

Put together a little photo montage YouTube video to show the differences.

Will post a true "after" pic later, but you get the idea from the video.

The Glossifier is on all the parts I dipped. PlastiDip dries to a Matte finish. I did not paint the metal body panels, just the plastic parts (the door handles, the running boards, the fender flares, and the bumpers).

Adding Glossifier shines it up. Depending on your skill, spray technique and ambient temperatures, your finished product could end up as either Satin or High Gloss. I ended up with the "Satin" finish. Maybe if I do this again, I will be better skilled and can get the higher gloss look?

There are videos on YouTube by DipYourCar that talk about the Glossifier. Granted Fonzie is an experienced painter.

I've watched a lot of DYC's videos, but I'm used to seeing the glossifier leave a high gloss finish. I didnt even know that it could leave a satin finish.
And how do the door handles feel?

They are rubbery feeling, but i think that is expected with plasti dip.

Gloss level and feel depends on application temp, application method and distance and overall experience with the product. Fonzie explains this in one of hisvideos.

Thanks for posting about this project. I'll definitely be plasti dipping my fenders once summer break comes around.
