Default 2002 durango

My AWD Durango's switch indicator lights for awd/4hi/4/lo lights went out and I don't think it goes into the 4x4.

From what I've read here, it is probably the tccm.

Question is, do the numbers have to match from the one I take out to the used one I am going to buy?

Thanks
Steve

yes, however the prefix (AH, ect) does not as this part simply denotes manufacturer

This thread is a reminder to me that I should maybe cycle through my ranges. I have not touched the switch is a few years.

It could be corrosion on the plug at the transfer case. Remove it and check, also plug it in and remove a few times, might make a better connection.
