Default How to remove battery case in '99 Durango?

We need to replace the battery in our 1999 Durango, but we can't get the plastic cover off. Here's our battery:

We're going to try PB Blaster on the corroded terminals, but the CURRENT problem is these bolts.

We got them loosened. They are turning almost freely. But they are not coming up or out, no matter how long we turn them. What are we missing? How do you get these out?

They are long and actually screw into the bottom piece. Use a drill to remove them and while you are unscrewing them, try and lift up on the middle brace with a screwdriver to help the grooves catch.

Spray the threads down on each side especially were the threads go into the bottom plate with some PB Blaster. Seeing that you did loosen then somewhat go ahead and tighten them up again so you can work some of the oil into the nut. Spray again and start the loosening them up again. Most likely they will pop and pop but work them out, tighten slightly and loosen back and forth all the way out. Remember to lubricate them before you install them again.

Yep, like hydra said soak them in PB and work them back and forth until they come all the way out. My one was stuck pretty good too, but lots of PB and wrenching got them out.
