Auto Dim Mirror

Default Auto Dim Mirror

Hi All, anyone know how to install and hookup an auto dim mirror into a 99 durango that never came with one?......i just got the overhead console installed, thanks to Old School's help.....but now i wanna get the mirror done too but havent been able to find anything in here on how.

You should be able to get the overhead harness from the junkyard, and it should have the connector for the mirror on it. It just needs an ignition switched 12v.

Hi Guy, i did get the plug that goes into it, theres 3 wires though and i have no idea where to connect them into or splice into. theres a black one, a blue w/white, and purple w/brown.

The 3rd one gets power when you're in reverse, it just tells the mirror not to dim to make it easier to see. I didn't bother hooking it up with mine.

Depending on where you live you may have to have the reverse option hooked up. Here in PA the inspector made me hook it up to pass inspection.


For the OP:

All 3 wires also tap into Plug C3. backup feed is Pin #11, fused ign. is pin #12, and ground is pin #13.
