Default Flex plate question 99 Durango 4x4 5.2 VIN Y

So I am replacing the engine on my Durango, the used engine I bought came without the flex plate so I am planning on using the one from my old engine. Is it a straight pull and install or does it matter
how it goes on in relation to the distributor/timing?

What engine is going in/out? are they the same? if there both 5.2's then the flexplate should be a direct swap. The bolt holes are positioned so you cant put it on wrong. FYI the flexplates for the 5.2 and the 5.9 our different as the 5.9's flexplate has a weight on it to balance the TC and the 5.2 has the weight on the converter itself.

its a 5.2 to 5.2 swap, so it doesn't matter how I bolt it on it shouldn't throw the timing off with the crankshaft position sensor?

Yup, one of the bolts is offset.

Here's a picture of my old one that cracked.

holy crap, how does a flex plate break like that?

so I got the engine in but now have no start issues, I'll start a new thread since it's a completely different topic.
Thanks for your help on the flex plate.

Had to have a shop replace a freeze plug while out of town and I'm guessing they didn't torque it down properly because it started making noise shortly after that.
