Default Engine not running smooth after spark plug change

Hi guys,

I just did a spark plug change on my 2000 Durango 5.9L and now the engine is not running well, it almost feels like it wants to stall at times. It's not always doing it either.

I first installed Autolite 3923 and taught that was the problem so I went with Champion. It still does it the same. I was then thinking my cables might be the issue so I spray water on them to see if they were faulty but no change so they seem ok.

The only other thing I did was the custom RAM air intake mod found here

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...m-air-diy.html

Aside from that I can't figure out what would cause this. Any ideas?

Cheers

I don't know if the earlier years require it or not, but did you disconnect your battery while doing it? If not, disconnect the battery for about 30 mins to an hour.

Did you gap the new plugs? Most platinums and iridiums dont need to be gapped but the low tech champions these motors need must be gapped to usually .40

Yes I did gapped them. Yesterday I also removed the custom RAM air, no difference.

You may have knocked off or left off a vacuum hose. Check that all is in place, not just the parts you know you touched.

+1 on vacuum line check! if that doesn't help, how old is your battery? Low voltage can cause all kinds of weird symptoms. If you have one, hook up a battery charger set to 15 amps or jumper cables from a running vehicle and see if it smooths the idle out.
