i removed the 3rd row seats form my 2000. i never had used them and there is quiet a bit of space wasted with them folded down so i just took them out. you get a space about 9'' deep and 12'' wide right behind the 2nd row and a extra 4'' deep and 12'' wide in front of the rear storage compartment. the rear seat also make a good couch for your garage.

 

I really don't like the no flat floor part. What did D's with no 3rd row option have in the back. I doubt it was just a random open pit like that.

I have the 3rd row, don't use it but once a year, yet I've never had a problem loading in whatever I needed to, but thats just me.

 

They had a compartment with a lid just like the one behind the 3rd row.

 

Yup. Only it opens from the front side.
