how to know if a pcm has factory security for 98 durango
Im looking for a way to figure out if the pcms i see online for sale have the factory security system installed on it.. all pcms for the durango slt and slt plus have the same pcm serial so theres no way of knowing if its from an slt or slt plus.. the slt plus has factory security on it so i dont want that pcm.. most of the ebay dealers dont know where the pcm came out of and dont know if it has a factory security system.. theres 2 other sets of numbers on a pcm a motorola s/n and chrysler s/n can these numbers tell me if its slt or slt plus pcm? Is there a way to look up the vin to see if its slt or slt plus?
Im new at this.. slowly figuring it out.. thanks 4 the help in advance!

avoid the "remanufactured" PCM people online. Lots of folks having issues with them. People have been posting better results in ordering one from O-reilly Auto parts.
Also seems like they could also ensure you have the correct one in regards to Factory Security.

I normally don't reply to Poopheads, but the security (VTSS) is a function of the Central Timer Module, unless you're referring to the security KEY, or SKIM?
You need to know if yours is SKIM equipped or not, AKA "The Grey Key" . That will determine which PCM you get.
