Default four wheel drive problems

I have a 2001 durango. for the last year and a half had no 4 x 4 due to a bad tccm. i just replaced it about a month ago, all lights on, transfer case engages, everything works.

my problem is when in four, I hear a noise that sounds like a stick being rubbed against the spokes of a wheel at all speeds. When I disengage four and go back to 2wd, no noise.
any one have any ideas or had the same problem? I live in Minnesota so four wheel drive is a must!

thanks for ur help!

Possible chain issue?

Could be that it's not fully engaging? I've seen people pull the electronic shifter and manually place it in 4X4 to rule out the chain. The instructions are in here, search.

Have you checked the fluid level in both the transfer case and the front differential?
