Default 2000 5.9 tranny

Hi all. Need some info on trannys. My 2000 5.9l slt 4x4 lost reverse so I need a new tranny.. I have a '99 5.9l tranny from an slt 4x4..the manual says only a 2000 will interchange.. I wanna rebuild the '99 tranny and install so I can continue to drive until I make the swap..can I rebuild the 99 to 2000 specs and make it work?? What are the differences??

I think it might just be some sensors/solenoids that could be swapped. I'd wait for mastertech to chime in if I were you though.

You need the valve body from the 2000 cause they went from a governor pressure soleniod to a governor regulator (or something named close to that) in 2000.
