how to replace tranny cooler lines in a 2001 dodge durango

My husband is trying change the tranny cooler lines in my durango and they just wont go on (the old ones came out in many pieces). has any one done this and have some pointers.

there is not enough room for the lines to fit where they need to you would need to lower the axle and then put the lines on.

like it says in the original post they came out in many pieces.

I have not replaced those lines but I have replaced the entire front differential assembly and it really isn't that big a deal to unbolt and lower it if thats what will make it happen.
