Default abs issues

my boss just bought a new suv for his kid. I am huge into dodge and know a great deal about the 2500 cummins 2nd gen's but i have never dug into one of these.

so i have a couple of small brake line leaks that im fixing and i find an issue with his abs computer. the PO told me that when the abs harness is pluged in he looses spedo. in the ecm/pcm computers i show a pending code of P0500.

here is what it does, it makes this noise at all times (key on or off). with the harness unpluged the suv drives fine and does have spedo.

the ABS computer has the following codes:

67 - motor circuit malfunction
78 - foundation brake partial system failure

** all these codes and definitions are from the scan tool so the definitions may not be correct**

i found a 5 page diag process that im about to go through.

Sounds like what I went through with mine, it was the abs module that was the problem.
I tried a rebuilding service and they tried 3 times to make it work and failed so I personally would not go that route. I finally bought one off ebay for around $100 with exact matching #s. By the way the sound you are hearing is the abs cycling and if you leave it plugged in doing that it will ruin the abs pump. Honestly the sound on the video sounds odd almost like its not cycling properly now, or it could be the sound reproduction not being accurate on the video.

I've seen people go to a bone yard and get one out of the same year, with the same ABS system as theirs (2 wheel or 4 wheel) and have them plug in and work great without the part numbers matching. Got to make sure the gearing/tire size match to yours so the speedometer will be on.
