I have a 99 Durango 4x4 with the 5.2 L engine 102,000miles. I;ve had it for a month and this just happened today. The check engine light came on and is idleing and running choppy. When I would give it more fuel the check engine light would blink. After a while on my way home it smothed out the light was still on, but is running back to normal. I saw in the owner;s manual, that the light blinks when there is catalitic converter damage. Please let me know your thoughts.

I'm not a complete expert, and I know this thread is a little old, but with the little bit of experience I have with those nasty check engine lights, the blinking usually means a misfire. The choppy running could be due to lots of things, bad O2's, bad plugs, MAS not reading correctly

Autozone will run the error codes for you for free if the light is on. Take it to them and let them tell you what is wrong.
