Default Blower Issue

Ok so I have a 1998 Durango with the resistor under the wiper cowl. I have speeds 1, 2, & 3 but no High (4). I replaced the resistor on Friday and replaced the climate control assembly today and still no high speed. The other 3 speeds seem fine.

Any ideas on why high speed refuses to work? I hear an audible click from under the instrument panel when I put it in high and when I switch back to 3rd speed.

when you set it to high are you still getting power to the resistor? i know on the later years (new interior) the resistor would sometimes take the plug with it, if you have a bad plug it could not be connecting on the high setting.

also the click sounds like a relay to me, (without hearing it in person) i would check for any fan relays in the wire diagrams and replace any that turn up.

Ok found it.. I had no clue that the '98 D was double relayed. One in the PDC under the hood and one hidden under the dash on the backside of the fuse block. The one hidden was melted. Pulled, replaced with a new BWD one and BAM, works likes charm!!
