Default rear end rebuild 2000 Durango

I'm trying to figure out a parts list to use instead of buying a whole new rear

I've re built rears before but this is my first dodge

Personally I just went to the junkyard and found a rear end with low wear on the gears and swapped the whole thing when mine needed replacing. Seemed easier to me than shimming new gears.

Looks like your side gears are junk. DX is correct I'd buy a used rear end. You will need to replace all the brgs. and the gears and then adjust the runout for the gears and the preload for the brgs.
Good luck with this.

Its the same rear end in the Dakota and there are lots of them gettin scrapped, you can use an 8.25 or 9.25 rear. Just make sure the gears are the same as what is in yours now as the front must match the rear diff if you have 4x.
