As the title says, my ash tray doesn't like staying closed, I'll accidentally run over a small pot hole, or a manhole cove thats not flush with the pavement or something like that, and it springs open, spilling whatever the content may be (in this case, since I'm not a smoker, it happened to be my license plate screws, and now several of them are missing.*) onto the passenger's side floor. Its quite frustrating and I don't know what to do about it. My first question: is this normal, do they tend to do this? I have a 2001 with the new style interior in it, I know the 98-00 style doesn't do this. If it's not normal, what should I do?


*Because I know someone will ask, my plates are off because when we took my parents names off of the title, land and registration, I had to get a paper plate until I can re-register it in my name only.
