Default Rebuilding a Durango 5.9L Magnum Engine...

I am a ways off from doing a rebuild as my engine is doing great...105k..a quart of oil every 2000 miles. However, I was wondering about something.

I will plan on a mild upgrade rebuild... .030 over bore, complete head job with 3 angle machining etc. probably no more than a 9:1 compression ratio and a mid range RV style cam.

With these changes...what has to be done with the PCM computer programming? Does it need to be tweaked for optimum performance or will stock factory programming read the new parameters?

Thanks for any info. Todd

I would always recommending custom programming to match your custom upgrade for optimum performance. Get a programmable tuner to program your pcm after you rebuilt your engine. you can problaby go to hemifever to get the tune. Just provide the programmer what hardware you have added or modded and they will tune it for you.
