I bought a 00 durango with a 4.7l v8 engine. But the engine is a rebuild outta a 05 4.7l with a 00 intake and throttle body. I wanna replace it with a 5.9l out of a 98. Is there any adapter I could get to make the 98 motor bolt up to the trans in my 00??? Small budge and limited access to proper tools. Thoughts? ideas? anything would help.. . Fabrication possible??

 

No it won't work, the 4.7 uses the 45RFE/545RFE and the 5.9 uses the 46RE, and they are not compatible. The electronics are significantly different as well. You'd have to have the 46RE trans for the 5.9 as well as most of the vehicle wiring swapped to go from the 4.7 to the 5.9.
