Hello I cant get my durango started after a it died on the highway. The first thing that happened was major rpm loss on the highway causing it to go down to 60km/h and not shifting back up to 4th gear. I managed to get it off the highway while continuously holding on the accelerator or it would die. Every time I let off the gas it would die. The engine was shaking a bit while I drove it to the parking lot where it stayed until the next day when I tried to drive it home (tow trucks are expensive). It then sputtered and died on the highway on the way home and wouldn't start. I have since had it towed home and replaced the battery and it still wont start after having the block plugged in overnight. It cranks over but wont even start now.

please help me save my durango I love it and do not want to replace it.

 

Check for fuel and spark. That should help figure out where you need to start looking.

 

X2! Is the check engine light on? If so get it scanned to get fault codes. That will tell you a lot.
