Default 2000 Durango R/T AC Issues

Hi Everyone, I have been searching these forums and reading up on all of the information regarding blowers, blower resistors, etc, but I can't seem to figure out what the issue may be. My blower works intermittently, but most of the time doesn't work at all. It used to work when I would give it a kick from the passenger seat, but now that doesn't work any longer. From researching on here I went and changed out the blower resistor, which got the blower working for about a day. Any ideas on what to look at next, prior to pulling the entire dash to replace the blower motor? I don't want to go down that road unless it is absolutely necessary. Thanks.

Read through the 'sticky' thread on AC issues.

I did look through there and didn't see anything directly related. I'm hoping someone has some in-site before I have to tear the dash apart.

the common issue with ac's with blower resistors are primarily the 01-03 durangos that has the 2nd gen interior. blower resistors is very common blowouts and burnt wiring harness. Very rare occassions we would see this issue on the 2000 and earlier models.

Check the resistor again, if it is blown, you can problably replace it again if it is not cost prohibitive. If 2nd one blows, time to check the wiring harness and possibly motor going bad.

if banging on the dash got it working again it sounds like a loose connection to me, maybe a ground. . . thats where i would start looking anyway.

UPDATE - I have been out of town the last few weeks and when I returned and drove the truck the AC blower kicked on in the morning. When I drove it again later that day it would not work again. I'm going to check the connections on the harness for the resistor. Any other areas I should look?
