5.2 Mag Rebuild - Connecting Rod Direction
Ok, stupid question. I am rebuilding a 5.2 from a 1998 Durango. As I was removing all the components for the machine shop I marked the connecting rods with a metal stamp tool. I thought I had marked the side of the rod that faces in toward the crank. I didnt pay attention to which side the tangs on the rod bearing were facing. In or out.
Anyways I got the rods back from the shop with the pistons hung and started prepping the bearings. I noticed that the tangs when installed would be pointing in. Oil hole facing out. Is this right? Watching youtube videos of rod installs (not necessarily 5.2 mag videos) some people say tangs should face out.
If I go by the chamfer facing the crank cheek then i'm right and the tangs are in. Although I would think unlikely the the machine shop could have put the rod caps on the opposite rods.
Any help?
