Default Occasional rattling-not sure where from

I have a 98 Dodge Durango 5.2 4X4. For about a week I have been hearing a rattling noise occasionally, especially when I start the truck. Someone said it might be a heat deflector but I have know idea where that is and if t can be fixed and how to fix it. I would describe the noise better if I could but other than being loud and sounding like a pully spinning I have know idea. Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem and what I can do to fix it. Oh, obviously I an mot a mechanic.
Thanks
ed

Crawl under the truck as soon as you start it and listen. Hold the heat shield ( before the exhaust gets hot) and see if it stops. All a head shield is is a thin metal piece between the exhaust and other parts of the truck. There will be guarding your gas tank..
