Default Right front vibration feels like a flat tire

I have a 2001 Durango SLT 4x4. There is an intermittent vibration that feels like the right front tire is flat. The lug nuts are tight and nothing looks bad. My knowledge of 4x4's is very limited. What might be the problem? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

It'd probably be worth checking for slop in the front CV joints and possibly the front driveshaft.

Thank you, do I check cv joints just by grabbing them to see if they're loose?

That's usually enough to check them. You really don't want to have movement perpendicular to the shaft or rotational slop.

You should check the hub bearing on that wheel. Take the tire and wheel off and see if there is slop.

More info. The shaking is mainly between 30 and 45mph and it stops when I let off the gas.

I'd say drive shaft, might even be rear. Check the u-joints.

When is the last time you had the wheels balanced? Rotate wheels back to front and see if it changes.

Ok i'll try the tires first then check u-joints. If nothing changes I guess I need to replace cv joint and hub bearing while I'm at It. Are cv joints very difficult to replace?

Thanks for the help!
