Default No Bus when cold

I have a '99 durango with the 5.9L motor, 4x4, factory towing package, with 201k miles. About a year ago it started having the no bus error. Since then, I've replaced the PCM(autocomputerexchange), battery, battery wiring, alternator, Crankshaft position sensor, pickup coil, IAC, TPS, and MAP sensors. None of this worked.

The error only occurs when the vehicle is cold, or very hot(temp gauge over 210). If "no bus" occurs, I leave the key on(if over 30 degrees), and in a few minutes the dash will come to life and start.

This vehicle has gone through the trouble in the past of shutting off when hot, but that was fixed by harness repairs by dodge. It was my dad's vehicle at the time, so I do not have the documentation, but might be able to get it.

The current symptoms seem to be opposite of almost every no bus thread I see.
Any ideas?

So it won't start when you get the no bus? If so maybe there's condensation in a connector somewhere causing a short.

Download the Fsm

No bus can take awhile to track down almost always the pcm or crank position sensor ((u replaced both) and your problem seems to be intermittent and tthat makes it more difficult.

Could be things that you may have not checked..
Wire harness at pcm... sometimes the wires get lose there so u need to wiggle the and make sure they are getting contact.
Check all grounds ((1 by the ac and the one from the battery to the fender are usually over looked)

I have seen several people had to replace instrument cluster to fix the no bus

Wire grounding or 2 wires rubbed together and making contact..

Good luck.. sorry couldn't be more help but after you do the Fsm you can post results here and that would give us an ideal.

I tried replacing ecu connectors(one was broken) I redid all the grounding on the truck a while ago, and it included everything. I still can't hunt it down, so I just bought a significantly less rusted Durango with a bad transmission to drop my drivetrain into. Hopefully the electrical system in it holds up better than mine has, and I'll have a parts truck.
